The Van Gogh Museum, AmsterdamThe Van Gogh Museum itself is closed for renovations and its web site is also down, scheduled to reopen in (ahem) January 1999.
But the Netherlands' loss is America's gain, as a travelling exhibit of 72 works from the Van Gogh Museum has just finished taking Washington by storm and is now wowing Los Angeles.
There are lots of people who love van Gogh but can't make it to L.A., can't afford the tickets, hate art spectacles and crowd scenes, or just prefer the look of a nice JPEG image to an oil on canvas. Lucky for them there are several online exhibits set up especially to highlight the works in the travelling exhibition:
