Qualifying galleries:
|
| |
- This service is intended for galleries and auction houses selling original works of art only. It is not practical for us to offer free listings for retailers of posters, print editions, books, etc.
|
| |
- Only works by artists already in the Artcyclopedia database can be listed. If you have suggestions for artists to be added, contact us at the email address above.
|
| |
- Galleries are responsible for adding listings and for reviewing them periodically to ensure they remain accurate.
|
| |
- Note that galleries may only have one listing per artist.
|
| |
Listing criteria:
|
| |
- Listings are for works by the hand of the specified artist only (not "style of", "similar to", etc.) Any gallery misusing this service by creating misleading or irrelevant listings will have their account terminated without notice.
|

- At the present time we require that all listings be illustrated online.
|
| |
- We strongly encourage galleries to link directly to the most relevant page, but we recognize that some website designs do not permit this (e.g. Flash sites, use of frames).
|
| |
- Listings may point to third-party websites (such as eBay), but to avoid confusion these sales should be clearly identified with the gallery associated with the account. Note that due to an agreement we have with Artnet, their listings will be added automatically and there is no need to add Artnet listings.

- Listings will be displayed in the following order:
1. Auction listings, sorted by auction date
2. Gallery listings, sorted by the date that the listing was last verified as accurate
Galleries are encouraged to verify their listings, frequently and can do so as often as they want; however there is no benefit to doing so more than once per day.

- Artcyclopedia is a family-friendly resource. Fine art-style nudes are normal and expected, but graphically sexual images or text cannot be permitted on our pages. Please be sure to mark any link which leads to this kind of content on your site with an appropriate warning such as "Warning: mature content".

Listing of works not for sale:

- Our tentative policy is that putting sold and not-for-sale works online is of public benefit and should be allowed, even encouraged. (This policy may conceivably change in the future, depending on the effect such listings prove to have on the overall usability of the commercial section of the site.)

- All listings must conform to the Terms of Use above, and are provided at Artcyclopedia's sole discretion. Listings may be removed and accounts may be terminated as Artcyclopedia employees deem appropriate.
