This is a new site for a new exhibition opening at the Walters Art Gallery in Baltimore: The Essence of Line: French Drawings from Ingres to Degas. Joseph Phelan has written a review of the show for our "Features" section.
The site for the show has hundreds of extremely good scans online - a real find for lovers of draughtsmanship. A number of them are actually better than the resolution they are being displayed at, including this one. Here is a link to the raw jpeg image. Here's hoping they don't discover this and simply replace the large images with smaller ones.
