This image comes courtesy of the National Gallery of Art, whose new exhibition, Pieter Claesz: Master of Haarlem Still Life, opens September 18.
An interesting observation from the NGA's website:
Paintings depicting aspects of the natural world were so characteristic of the Netherlands that, during the seventeenth century, the Dutch words stilleven and landschap were adopted into English as "still life" and "landscape".
