Christoph Amberger
[German Painter, ca.1500-1562]
|
Our perception of art is basically Victorian. The object, the commodity as a work of art is a completely recent perception... What is important with the Running Fence or the Reichstag or the Valley Curtain is that they are outside of that art system, and they are thrown directly into the everyday life of the country, of the community, of politicians, of the army, of circulation on streets and highways.
