Giorgio Morandi
[Italian Painter, 1890-1964]
|
The only kind of art that has continued to interest me, ever since 1910, has been that of certain masters of the Italian Renaissance - I mean Giotto, Paolo Uccello, Masaccio, and Piero della Francesca - then also that of Cézanne and the early Cubists.
| | - Giorgio Morandi, 1958, quoted by Edouard Roditi |
