Malevich experimented with a variety of Modernist movements, and his philosophy is at the core of the abstract geometric style known as Suprematism.
The Knife Grinder is a "Cubo-Futurist" painting. The Oxford Concise Dictionary of Art & Artists describes it as combining Cubism's fragmentation of form with Futurism's multiplication of the image.
